These DNN Basic Modules are available with all installations
Account Login
The Account Login module permits users to log in to your portal. Features include a Register button where users can register to become a Registered User, password reminder and an option to display Login notes.
Announcements
The Announcements Module renders a list of announcements. Each announcement includes a title and text. Optional features are a "read more" link to a file, tab or another site, and the ability to set each announcement to automatically expire after a particular date.
Banner Advertising
Revenue can be generated from the portal and managed through the use of banner advertisements. The banner advertising module enables you to select the number of banners to display as well as the banner type. Banners can be placed in the header of the portal, and reporting is provided for banner views and clicks.
Contacts List
The Contacts module manages contact information for a group of people, for example a project team. Basic information such as name, role, email, and two telephone numbers can be listed.
Basic Content Manager
The Content Manager provides many features for managing and editing rich-text content. You may also publish rich-text content with an expiration date, allowing for special holiday or event versions of content, as well as add links, images and files to content.
Discussion Board
This module provides a rudimentary discussion board. It renders a group of message threads on a specific topic. Authorized members can compose messages using the rich-text editor, read and reply to discussion messages. The administrator can edit and delete existing discussion threads.
Document Downloads
The documents module renders a list of documents, including links to browse or download the document. Documents can be linked to documents uploaded to the site or linked to external files. The module can also track the number of times the document is accessed, as well as by whom and the date.
Events List/Calendar
The events module renders a list of upcoming events, including start date, time, expiration and location. Events can be displayed as a list or in a calendar format.
FAQs
The FAQs module enables the management of a list of Frequently Asked Questions and their corresponding answers.
Feedback
The Feedback module allows visitors to send messages to the administrator of the portal. Basic information such as email, name, subject and comment can be submitted. For logged-in users, the module will automatically pre-fill email and name.
Image Library
The image module renders an image using an HTML IMG tag. The module simply sets the IMG tags attribute to a relative or absolute URL, so the image file does not need to reside within the portal. The module can also track the number of times the image is clicked, as well as by whom and the date.
IFrame (External Webpage Viewer)
This module allows you to integrate a page from another web site into your website. You just define the URL for the page you wish to include and it will appear in the module.
Links Manager
The Links module renders a list of hyperlinks and tracks the number of time users click the links.
News Feeds (RSS)
This module allows you to add news feeds to your portal. A news feed includes a brief description of each news item with a hyperlink to more details. The link can be syndicated on your portal or external news feed. Syndicated news can be generated from each of your Announcements, Documents and Events modules.
Newsletter/Bulk Email
The Bulk Email module lets administrators compose an email message, choose which users or group is to receive the message, and send the item. For privacy and security, each newsletter is sent separately to users without revealing other users email addresses.
Site Search
The Search module allows you to design customized searches of your site. Search results are Security Role driven, permitting logged in users to search areas they have permission for. The module can be configured to search either one or several of the announcements, contacts, discussion, documents, HTML or Links modules on your site. Search results can be customized to include a description, audit and breadcrumbs.
Site Statistics
The site log can help administrators analyze both their portal users and those coming to view the portal. This tool generates reports such as: detailed site log, page popularity, and page views by day, page views by days of week, page views by hour, page views by month, user frequency, user registration by country, and user registration by date.
Survey
The Survey module renders one or more survey questions. Each question can permit either a single or multiple select responses. Permitted users can submit their response to the survey, or can view current survey results.
User Account
The User Account module permits Registered Users to add, edit and update their User Account details. Membership services are also managed here. By default, users go to a built-in User Account details page; this module allows the administrator to create a custom User Account details page.
Users Online
The Users Online Module displays current site activity. It displays the number of people online viewing the site, the number of members online viewing the site, as well as the number of new members.
Vendors and Affiliates
Allows administrators to store contact information, advertising materials (banners, button ads), and statistical data on portal vendors and affiliates. Manages start and end dates for ad campaigns, tracks impressions, and calculates cost per impression (CPM).
